From 1 November 2026, the visitor’s card will serve as a ticket for buses and trains. Hop on, enjoy the scenery, and arrive at your destination. This freedom applies automatically to all visitors, regardless of where they are staying.
Until then, the current arrangements will remain in place. The Millstätter See Inclusive Card (MIC) and the Sonnenschein Card are already valid as tickets for the S-Bahn in Carinthia and as far as Lienz – see the regional cards. The Nockmobil currently costs €3 per person per journey with a visitor’s card. See the current transport options. Regional and city buses, as well as long-distance services in Carinthia, will only be included from 1 November 2026.
The mobility allowance applies to all overnight guests in Carinthia who have registered electronically.
Day visitors and guests not staying overnight continue to pay the regular fares, as do locals without a KlimaTicket. Second-home owners, long-term campers paying a flat-rate visitor tax, and school groups are also excluded.
Bicycle transport, special services such as trains using the Tauernbahn car shuttle, special trains, Intercity buses and seasonal shuttles are not included (unless expressly stated as free of charge). A separate ticket is required for journeys or sections of a journey that extend beyond the area of validity specified above.
The process always starts with electronic guest registration at your accommodation. Once registered, the accommodation provider automatically issues the appropriate guest card, digitally via the ZEITpass app.
No additional ticket is required – the guest card itself serves as your public transport ticket. Which of the three cards you receive depends on the accommodation you have booked:
Millstätter See Inclusive Card (MIC)
Guests at MIC partner establishments around Lake Millstatt
Transport throughout Carinthia, plus over 40 activities, free access to lido beaches and discounts
Sonnenschein Card
Guests at Sonnenschein Card partner establishments in Bad Kleinkirchheim and Feld am See
Transport throughout Carinthia, plus benefits for active holidays and spa visits
ZEITpass Card
(new from 1.11.2026)
Guests at accommodations in the Millstätter See – Bad Kleinkirchheim – Nockberge region who do not have a MIC or Sonnenschein Card
Mobility throughout Carinthia exclusively
Children under the age of 6 travel free of charge without their own ticket; from the age of 6, every child needs their own guest ticket.
It closes a gap for guests staying with accommodation providers that did not offer a guest card before 31 October 2026. From 1 November, their guests will also benefit from free public transport, with the card issued directly by the accommodation provider following guest registration.
Additional benefits, such as discounts on attractions or swimming facilities, remain exclusive to the MIC, Sonnenschein Card and Kärnten Card. Guests wishing to take advantage of these benefits can find participating accommodation providers under Regional Cards.

For destinations not served by the bus network, the Nockmobil is also available. From 1 November 2026, this will incur a convenience surcharge of 2 euros per journey and must be booked in advance via the Postbus Shuttle app or by telephone. Current departure times can be found using the route planner in the ZEITpass app.
