Two new singletracks lead from the Unterwirt Hüttn at 1,340 metres above sea level down to the Kirchheimerhof at 1,060 metres: the UNIQA Trail and the technically challenging Unterwirt Trail. Those who pedal up under their own steam can ride both trails free of charge – with a direct connection to the Flow Country Trail for anyone looking for even more trail action.

Free of charge:
Those who cycle up to the Unterwirt Hüttn themselves can ride both trails free of charge. If you combine them with the lift-accessed Flow Country Trail, you will need a valid lift ticket. Holders of the Gravity Card can also ride the Flow Country Trail free of charge.

UNIQA Trail – A smooth, challenging trail ride

The blue UNIQA Trail winds its way down from the Unterwirt Hüttn to the Kirchheimerhof over 3,065 metres of smooth, flowing trail. Rated as easy, it is nevertheless one of the more challenging trails in its category – comparable to a “difficult blue” ski run. Ideal for families and bikers with some initial singletrack experience.

Unterwirt Trail – the technical challenge

The red Unterwirt Trail runs for 838 metres and takes things up a level in terms of difficulty. The first section features five technically challenging wooden elements (118 metres in total) as well as a 5-metre-long wooden bridge. The trail is designed for advanced and expert bikers looking for a challenge.

Marco Schwarz – Local Hero with a bike in the cellar

When he’s taking a break from his ski boots, Marco Schwarz can often be found in the saddle. The World Cup ski racer is a passionate mountain biker who grew up in Bad Kleinkirchheim. He joined SC Bad Kleinkirchheim at the age of seven and remains closely connected to his home club to this day, regularly attending club events and competitions. So it’s only fitting that the new trails bear his name: a local who knows the trails around Bad Kleinkirchheim inside out.

Bad Kleinkirchheim is and always will be my sporting home. It is a great honour for me that the trails here now bear my name. Direct return to the car – depending on the starting point.

Circular route tip: From the Kirchheimerhof, a forest track approximately 3.5 km long with an elevation gain of around 330 metres leads back to the Unterwirt Hüttn – technically straightforward, but a noticeable climb in terms of fitness (roughly 20–35 minutes by bike).

Both trails start at the Unterwirt Hüttn at 1,340 metres above sea level and end at the Kirchheimerhof at 1,060 metres above sea level.

Yes, both trails are perfectly connected to the Flow Country Trail. For this section, which uses the cable car, you’ll also need a cable car ticket or the Gravity Card – the Marco Schwarz Trails themselves are free to use.

Both trails are one-way single tracks and are open exclusively for downhill riding. A forest track leads uphill to the Unterwirt Hüttn (see circular route tip).

Anyone cycling up to the Unterwirt Hüttn can use both trails free of charge. To combine this with the cable car-assisted Flow Country Trail, you’ll also need a cable car ticket or a Gravity Card.

A helmet and protective gear, as well as a suitable trail bike. These can be hired from the bike hire shops in Bad Kleinkirchheim.
