Regional specialties, wine & stories in the golden autumn: During the Culinary Nights 2025, the region is transformed into a stage for Carinthian cuisine & products from the Genussland Kärnten region on the pleasure weekends.
It was the monks from Millstatt Monastery who cultivated the valleys. What grew in the meadows, fields and gardens was recorded in delicious recipes. Some of these old recipes still serve as inspiration for the chefs today, who are keen to experiment with them for the "Culinary Nights".
Meat, milk and vegetables come from local farmers - fresh, seasonal and carefully selected.
On the pleasure weekends in fall, selected hotels, restaurants and pleasure spots between lake and mountain invite you to culinary evenings on Fridays and Saturdays. When the sun sinks behind the mountains, an enjoyable experience begins: multi-course menus in which the products from the "Genussland Kärnten" region play the leading role - accompanied by Carinthian wines and stories from the Genussland producers - make every evening a highlight for connoisseurs and lovers of regional cuisine.
The culinary hike through Bad Kleinkirchheim starts on September 19 at 7 pm - from place to place. Each course takes you on a journey through Carinthian cuisine, accompanied by exquisite Carinthian wines and the mild late summer air. An enjoyable journey for all the senses.
In 2025, guests can expect a starter of "Rauchkuchl & Selch" (Evident Hotel Prägant), an intermediate course of "Kärntner Korn, Kraut & Ruabn" (Loy-Stub'n) and the main course of "Surf & Turf" with fish and game (Kärntnerhof). The dessert with "Carinthian wine & Carinthian cheese" rounds off the experience at the Unterwirt Hüttn.
When strong cheese meets fine vines, it's harmonious on the palate. Whether delicately spicy goat's cheese or matured "Kas" from the mountain pasture - accompanied by a glass of Carinthian wine, matured in the sun. An evening full of contrasts - and yet in perfect harmony. Sensual, honest, unadulterated - just like the land of pleasure itself.
Game and fish - two faces of Carinthia in one menu. Tender venison from the Nockberge mountains, freshly caught fish - accompanied by wild mushrooms, berries & root vegetables. Nature to enjoy, refined by hand. A culinary journey between the forest path and the lakeshore.
The fields tell stories - of old varieties, rethought. Local grains, fresh herbs and "ruabn" in all their diversity: creatively interpreted, rooted in tradition. Carinthian culinary craftsmanship with depth and a down-to-earth approach. Evenings full of grounding - and surprising lightness.
When smoke meets flavor, it gets intense: smoking like in the old days, served with a modern twist. Smoked meat, bacon, fish & vegetables - refined by fire, TIME and craftsmanship. Menus for connoisseurs who love something special. Spicy, warm & full of memories - that's the taste of Carinthia.
Culinary side-events in Bad Kleinkirchheim:
From the pleasure market to the summit enjoyment:
Slow food meets honest craftsmanship at the gourmet market of regionality - every Saturday with fine specialties from Carinthia. And show chef Marco Krainer serves up regional cuisine on the mountain.
Regional orientation guide and long-standing partner:
"Why go far away when good things are so close?" The organizers of the "Culinary Nights" also asked themselves this question, and so it was decided to include the Genussland Kärnten as a partner. Genussland Kärnten is an indispensable guide for all those who consciously choose regional products. Over 500 farmers, manufacturers, Carinthian gourmet innkeepers, Genussland Kärnten trading partners and schools are now involved in the production and refinement of regional foods.
