Gravel Bike Carinthia – between Lake Millstatt and the Nock Mountains Alpine gravel routes, lost places & swimming breaks in drinking water lakes

The NOCKBIKE region is one of the most diverse gravel areas in Austria. Gravel passes, the legendary Nockalmstraße and routes around Lake Millstatt combine altitude, flow and Mediterranean ease. The combination of alpine terrain, quiet forest paths and panoramic sections in the UNESCO Carinthian Nockberge Biosphere Park is unique in Austria.

The Nockalm Road is considered one of the most spectacular scenic roads in the Eastern Alps. The continuously paved road and optional gravel branches make it an ideal gravel bike backdrop. Combined tours that combine asphalt serpentines with forest paths in the Nock Mountains are particularly popular.

The legal network of paths for gravel bikes is based on approved forest and alpine paths as well as designated cycle routes. There are numerous officially accessible routes in the NOCKBIKE region, including forest paths towards Millstätter Alpe. The Outdooractive map shows all approved sections.
